'Culture Differences' medal

This medal was for the British Art Medal Society Student 2016 entry.

Since I was born in Hong Kong and have been living there for seventeen years before I came to the U.K. to continue my studies in 2012, this gave me the opportunity to get to know more about other cultures and traditions that different nationalities have. Hence I would like to explore the differences between Western and Chinese cultures.

I am particularly interested in the different dining styles that these two cultures have. I believe the gestures of holding a pair of chopsticks and a knife and a fork would be the most obvious way to represent it, hence I have hand crafted the design in wax and casted it into bronze.
